MIDCITY MANAGEMENT HANDS OVER THE BATON

Sustainability is one of the corner stones that MidCity is built on. With that, it is an honour for a company of 32 years to still have its founding fathers actively involved in the company’s operations. Except for Glen McCreath, who relocated to the coast in 1998, Dawie still holds the role of Non-Executive Chairman, Des as Chief Operations Officer and Marlene as Director overseeing Trust Finance and Facilities Management. At some point, if we are lucky, we will have the opportunity to sit back and enjoy the fruits of our life’s work. Des Reed has now reached that milestone.

Des joined the company as Director in 1987 and over the years contributed his knowledge and skills in property administration, investments, developments and marketing to grow the company to what it is today. Des is a highly respected individual in the Pretoria property sector and with his dynamic personality has built lasting business relationships with clients that have continued throughout his entire career, and will continue on in the company going forward.

In order to fill the void left in the position of Head of Property Administration, MidCity welcomes Marius Alberts to the group. Marius brings with him a wealth of knowledge from the financial sector, gained from his extensive career in the banking sector. Prior to joining MidCity, Marius was the Managing Director of Absa Namibia. His practical skills are further backed by his academic record which includes a Senior Management Development Program at Templeton College in Oxford as well as a B Com in Financial Management & Business Economics from UNISA and a degree in Banking Financial Management from the Belgium Bankers Association.

With this, MidCity pays tribute to one of its founding members and thank him for the sound foundation of service, integrity, innovation and sustainability that he has laid down for the company, and also to welcome a new face to the team. We wish both of them all the success with their new journeys ahead.
