Pretoria: MidCity Property Group is diversifying its top management team with a few strategic changes and additions. Dawie de Villiers, current Executive Chairman and founder of the 30 year old company has decided to step into a Nonexecutive position as of April 2014. Further to this, David Hewer, current Managing Director, will assume the role of Group Chief Executive Officer with David de Villiers (Dawie Jnr) being appointed to the board of Directors overseeing Property Developments and Corporate Marketing.

“Over the last 30 years, we have laid down a strong foundation to build on and I look forward to the next 30 years of continued growth and success. I am excited about the new changes and believe they will contribute to the drive of this dynamic company.” said Dawie de Villiers. David Hewer is a Chartered Accountant and has extensive knowledge and experience within the property and financial industries. He has been involved in the commercial property sector over the past 18 years and has taken on major projects across all the relevant fields, particularly relating to new developments. “David Hewer will be instrumental in positioning the company as a major player in the property industry within Gauteng.

This is an exciting new role for him and we believe he will rise to the challenge,” Dawie de Villiers added.

David Hewer stated, “My goals are strategically planned to be achievable and measurable in agreement with the Board of Directors and together we will achieve success.”

David de Villiers will oversee the Group’s Property Development and Corporate Marketing functions. “I am looking forward to my new role within the group and believe I can contribute to the progressive energy of the board.” stated David de Villiers.

David de Villiers obtained a BComm degree in Investment Management from the University of Stellenbosch and after three years in the banking sector joined the group in 2010.

MidCity has specialised disciplines in each sector within the property industry, namely property management, sectional & full title management, broking & sales, project management & developments, re-selling of electricity & meter reading, property valuations and property insurance.
